Description
Mr Riff, The Boogie Man. Purveyor of good time music, salt of the earth
and all round good egg.
( completely unbiased opinions of three people polled earlier today, In
my kitchen. )
My Favourite:
Public figure:
Morihei Ueshiba, Bet that got you thinking. He was the founder of Aikido
and had the attitude of
"Be nice to each other." He used his art to bring people together
whilst learning to understand themselves.
Memory:
Not good!! No seriously, It would have to be, Err no It's gone again.
Oh yes, The Blues Festival in Laxey 2005.
The atmosphere, the crowd, the smell (?) The Riff Raff Crew.
Gadget:
Hyacynth Bucket (It's pronounced boo'kay), My Sierra.
She's brilliant, no matter what button you press something completely
unrelated falls off.
Saying:
Step out of your way.
It's one of mine, It means, If you want to do something it's usually yourself
that's stopping you doing it.
Get out of your own way and do it.
Item of clothing:
My Top hat, It's like a 'do anything you want' card.
Top hat on, riding a bicycle round Shoprite, It's "Arh there's Mr
Riff, local celebrity nut case."
Top hat off, It's "Baz, when you come out of the tree the Doctor
would like a word".
Comedy moment:
Whenever I play 'Shine a light' onstage. The Riff Raff Crew all get their
lighters out,
and It's only a matter of time.
Then the song gets drowned out by the shouts and squeals of singed Riff
Raff.
On a bad day I have to stop the song whilst everyone throws beer at the
ceiling.
Pastime:
Is It, I'll get me coat. Oh I see, erm as I'm forty it would be making
lists and insolvency.
Place to eat/drink:
Not really a restaurant goer.
But I can usually be found in the Buttery trying to have a conversation
over the cries of "BEANS ON TOAST".
You Know if the door's open when you pass they're like subliminal messages,
you reach the zebra crossing and suddenly your hungry.
Time of day:
Evening, just as the sun is going down and all the birds are singing.
Apparently they do it in the morning as well, but they'll have to do me
a tape of that one.
Album:
Don't suppose I can choose either of the Mr Riff albums. No? thought not.
Oh well If we're not mentioning the Mr Riff albums then I'll choose an
album that isn't one of the Mr Riff albums.
I choose, anything by Quo....Or AC/DC or Rory Gallagher, No wait ZZ Top
Or ...............Oh I give up There's millions.
