I've been sat here at the computer for the
last ten minutes trying to find a way to start this review.
Just about every superlative I could use would be inadequate. So I'm just
going to go with: Beyond.
Expectations, wildest dreams, even the taste of
chocolate! Beyond. ( Alright the chocolate bit
was a joke obviously )
But you get the gist.
To play to all those people last year at
the Venue in DC/AC
was something special, but you know deep inside that what your doing is
copying something that is already popular.
But at this years Laxey Blues Festival when I took
to the stage and watched everyone bouncing up and down to Mr Riff
tunes it was as I said, Beyond
Friday night:
or should I say evening, the time slots this year are one of the reasons
I'm so ecstatic with the Festival.
It's wonderful to walk on stage at eleven o' clock and get a great reaction,
it's mind blowing to do the same thing at seven thirty!!
The other strange thing about doing a successful concert early in the
evening is: I was Buzzin' AND free for the rest of the night to walk around
and enjoy watching all the great musicians playing at the festival.
Saturday
night: There are moments in
life when, after all the preparation and work, everything goes to plan.
There are no mistakes, no technical problems and you feel happy with your
lot. Then there are those times when everything is SO right that it moves
you past what you think you can do.
Your ability stops being in the way and the essence of what you want to
say with your music can shine through.
( very zen he,he ).
Tonight the good boogie people in the tent "got " what Mr Riff
was about and rewarded me with the night of a lifetime.
Highlight of the weekend:
The Riff Raff Crew. You people know how to boogie. Riff,Riff,Riff
