I wrote a review of this gig in the news page at the start of the month which I think summed it up quite nicely, so I've copyied it over to this page.
The photos say it better than I ever could anyway.

I was invited to play The Bitchin party at the Venue on friday the 2nd of July.
The whole thing was a benefit for a great guy called Phil Maddrell who hasn't been too well for a while. Fortunately he's on the mend.

All the musicians signed a snare drum for him which he did his best to accept gracefully ( phil hates a fuss).

The night was a stormer with everyone giving 110%.

An old friend of phil's, Steve Gibbons, played a cracking set for him.
